Collection: Zori for Men

What is a Zori?

A Japanese "zori" (草履) is a traditional type of footwear. Zori are a kind of sandal made of various materials, including straw, fabric, lacquered wood, or synthetic materials. They are characterized by their thong-style design, similar to flip-flops, where a V-shaped strap passes between the big toe and the second toe, while the sole supports the foot.

Zori are often worn by men or women with traditional Japanese clothing such as kimono or yukata. They come in a wide range of styles and can be quite plain for everyday wear or highly decorative for special occasions. The type and quality of materials used in making zori can vary, and they can be designed for both formal and informal occasions.

In addition to their use as everyday footwear, zori are also used in traditional tea ceremonies, where guests wear them as part of the traditional attire. The design and materials used for zori may vary based on the formality of the occasion.
