What is Zori?

One of the key characteristics of Zori, is the tatami surface.
However, it's important to note that the term "tatami" in this context does not refer to the traditional straw mats used in residences but rather to a surface woven from bamboo strips.
Leather is sewn onto the underside of this bamboo strip surface.

Zori also have metal fittings on the heels, which create a distinctive sound, often described as "chari chari," when walking. This combination of features defines zori as a type of traditional Japanese footwear.

Finely crafted zori with a "Nambu" surface feature intricate weaving with tightly spaced stitches. The absence of irregularities and the smooth texture also have a direct impact on the comfort and feel when wearing them.
